From Relaxation to Self Reliance and Constructive Change
Relaxation is by far the one thing that the people of today overlook. Most people are too busy or stressed to take time and relax. Little do they know that this inability to just stop, clear your head and be self-analytical is what's bringing about the negativity in their lives? By relaxing, we can learn to explore the wonders and possibilities of our minds. We can find new and interesting ideas we didn't know we had and we can put them to good use in improving our lives. Relaxation is what can start you on your path to making constructive changes in you life and relying more on yourself and less on others.
Relying on other people and even computer programs may seem like a quick and effective way to unload your problems but in reality, it's doing you more harm than good. By doing this, you are constantly avoiding the responsibilities and problems that you face in your life. If you are face-to-face with a problem you can't outsource, a problem that a computer can't fix, will you be prepared? Shirking all of your problems and responsibilities onto other people inhibits your ability to grow and learn as a person. As a result, you will be most likely stuck in a dead-end job that you hate, surrounded by people who you despise.
Are you happy with who you are and what you do? If not, ask yourself why not. If you aren't happy with yourself, chances are this has a very negative impact on your life. There are many things you can do to improve your self-esteem and the way you see yourself. Take five minutes to write down on paper all of the things about yourself that you feel are unique or that you feel proud of. Now do the same with all of the things you feel are negative about you or bringing you down. Now take the list of negative things and burn it. You should then proceed to hang the list of positive things somewhere in your house where you will see it every day. This will remind you of what a good person you can be and how much you are important.
Relaxation doesn't necessarily mean having no problems; this is why people are unable to relax. People believe that in order to relax, their life has to be rid of anything that is problematic or stressful. While this would be ideal, it's simply not possible. This why people never get the results they want by unloading their problems on others and manifesting their stress into terrible habits.
What you need to do is to take time to yourself each day. It doesn't have to be much, maybe only an hour. Use this time to do something that is cathartic, something that takes your frustrations and problems and channels them into something positive and relaxing. Take up jogging or boxing, start writing a novel; maybe even start a little business for you. The point is that you should be doing something that is fun for you and that you love.
Once you start relaxing and not constantly worrying about the problems in your life, solutions to these problems will emerge. You will begin to think clearer and you mind will not be so crowded with negative thoughts. This will allow the emergence and free passage of positive thoughts and interesting ideas. You can now harness this power to bring about positive and constructive changes in your life.
When you use this new clear head to concentrate, analytically, on the situation and just figure out what needs to be done, the solutions will flow through you like rain. This guide to self-reliance and constructive changes may seem simple, but that's only because it is. If you take the time to slow life down, you will begin to see things much clearer.
